The third remake of the original 1930s film of the same name, this is a very entertaining version of the long-time musical star (played by the always dependable Bradley Cooper, who, we learn, can sing quite well) who discovers talent in (and love with) an unknown, doubt-ridden talented commoner — a fantastic performance (acting and musically) by Lady Gaga. Cliched story, indeed, but this one will entertain and perhaps move you to tears.
