Nureyev

An imaginative documentary about one of the greatest dancers of all time, Rudolf Nureyev.  Plenty of talking (disembodied) heads — we are told whose voices we are listening to, but we don’t see them —  fascinating archival footage, and lovely dance sequences (although I would have liked more of those) tell the story of a young boy from the far reaches of the Soviet Union whose natural talent and drive took him to stardom at home, then defection and global stardom. Enjoyable. (Some subtitles.)
