An underrated and not widely distributed film set amidst the 2008 US housing crash. Andrew Garfield (known best for his role in The Social Network) is very good as an honest man who loses his family home, gets a job with the ruthless real estate shark (the always terrific Michael Shannon, who you do not want to cross) who threw him out into the street, and who doesn’t like what he becomes. The film captures the destruction of the human spirit for many caught in that crisis with realistic characters.
